| Mcfc4eva990 | Just joined the forum at this very depressing time [:(] I have supported City since i was around 6 years old ( no idea how it came about lol) and i am furious with the idiots on different forums saying this is the worst City team ever which is the most pathetic thing i have heard (remember 97???) in my entire 16 years on this earth. Anyway rightfully these nob jockeys get slated but they get called "new champagne fans". Sadly at only 16 i don't get to many games as i live 70 miles away so there is no'one to tell me what this means, and my dad hates football so he won't take me (but i will be able to get there from august when i get my driving license though [:D]). So just wondering what is a champagne fan and why are people called that? I know its a bit of a dumb question but i'm just wondering as its bugging me. I would think glory hunters but i highly doubt any City fan can be called a glory hunter lol. Any replies would be much appreciated. |
| mancityheel | can't help you on "new champagne" fans but it sounds close to "glory hunters." Definitely not worst City team ever...but if we get relegated it will be the most under-achieving team ever, that's for sure. Still think we will be alright. There are 16 games left and all we have to do is win 5 of them, 6 to be totally sure. 5 decent performances and about 3 or 4 draws would do it. Birmingham, Everton, Southampton, Fulham, Wolves at home, plus one more somewhere along the way, and we can survive to fight another year. Of course I hope we can do quite a bit better than that and get back into the top half--not impossible. |
| city4eva | yeah im in a similar situation, im originally from manchester but due to family break-ups im now in norwich (over 200 miles from manchester).and as im 17 its quite hard to get there (until i get my Licence) but im coming down for the wolves game in april! bring back the goat!!! |

| city4eva | where would the city forum be without the Knowledgeable swift? nah this is by no means the worst city ever, in my opinion we are always playing well its a lot of bad luck and dodgy ref decisions. bring back the goat!!! |

Hope to see you all on at regular basis down at the COMS very very very soon [:D] I'm sure you will all be glad to see me as im quite a good luck charm. I have been to two league matches this season one against Villa when we hammered them 4-1 and the other against Bolton when we battered them 6-2. Bit of a pattern forming there lol me attending the only two games in the league at home that we have won. Then again its highly unlikely me being there has any difference apart from to me. Off this topic has anyone seen anything of this John Sutton that KK is looking to bring in? |
