Posted - 10/10/2014 : 20:06:26 I bumped into Yaya Toure at the petrol station the other day.
I am 6ft and 16 stone yet he still made me look small - he is huge!
He was a bit cagey at first (I may have been a journalist or a red) but soon became warm and friendly.
I reckon he is possibly the best all round player we have ever had?? (followed closely by Tevez)
What do you think? Yaya the greatest all rounder ? (esp last season) |

Posted - 15/10/2014 : 22:14:10 thanks mailboy, that was nice. Must be fun to just go about your business day to day and every now and then, out of the "blue", run into some of our stars, wonderful. |

I don't want to breach their privacy but there are so many here in Alderley that they just blend in......
Maradonna even came the other year! |

Posted - 14/10/2014 : 20:45:20 sorry guys been away a few days.........
Yaya
- he was driving a black left hand drive Audi 4 x 4 - he was with his brother? (he has many but I think it was Kolo) - he was dressed hip hop style with a baseball cap - I was a bit star struck as he is a rare spot - I met him at a petrol station in Wilmslow.... - I live in Alderley Edge Cheshire so I do see a lot the team each week (sorry don't mean to be a nobby name dropper lol)
_ I just bumped in to Vincent and his wife half an hour ago - he was in a t shirt and it was 8pm and cold! - tough guy! I told him he was a legend.
So far Ive met Pablo Zab a VERY nice normal guy with zero bling and a beautiful down to earth Spanish wife and normalish house (I bought him some biscuits in Costa Coffee after we wont our last cup)
Also Joleon Lescott after he just left us. Very humble tiny bit of bling but a real family man with his children.
Sergio lives in Alderley too but rarely leaves his house although a pal of mine had a round of golf with him out of the blue the other week (he barely speaks Engglish I saw Tevez out shopping on his own in the coop the other with a basket and a really crap small A class merc (so nobody spots him)
I ve seen Joe Hart out with Gareth Barry and James Milner in Manchester Australasia with their wives (but they still eyed up my bird lol!)
Also Mancini many times in Alderley as he ate at the same place everyday nearly at about 12 o clock.
Mario many times - extreme bling Bentley Ferrari hip hop clothes and mad behaviour like going to cash point and leaving car open with keys in it engine running! Also mad quad bikes at high speed through Alderley with 5 mates.
The list is long and I wont even mention the other football teams in the village. Di Maria spent 1.5 hours shopping for the first time in Waitrose last week!
Sorry if this sounds bad but I just thought Id share some spots |

Posted - 11/10/2014 : 20:05:41 1. Cool 2. Did you get his address so you can send him birthday sentiments? 3. What was he driving? 4. What was he wearing? Blinged out or conservative? 5. You never told us what you asked him? 6. You crooned and gushed like a school girl over Beckham didn't you?
7. Best all around all time player is a tough category. Yaya's defensive liabilities for me take him out immediately, plus I've always maintained that Yaya doesn't take advantage of his height, should having scored more headed goals from corners and from wide free kicks that he doesn't take. Have to say though that the free kicks he does take from straighter on are some of the best goals ever. 8. Your call of Teves didn't come to mind right away but is actually quite astute. We know what he is going forward, but many a time I was impressed with him coming back and closing down in the midfield as well as defending opposing wingers out wide taking the pressure off of the outside backs. A savvy proper footballer with a great engine, yet a little selfish.
